    ESRAG and Climate Projects of the Rotary Clubs
    Speaker: Päivi Kippo-Edlund
    Overview of ESRAGs work across the world. How ESRAG supports and helps clubs in developing environmental projects and educates Rotarians in taking actions aiming at combatting climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution of the seas. Every Club Climate Friendly is one example of ESRAG Initiatives where there are almost two hundred clubs involved. Series of two climate webinars of the District 1420 has trained 160 Rotarians in climate issues.

    Finnish Rotary Clubs as Environment Actors – best practices of clubs

    - promoting environmental education in primary schools
    - monitoring the grade of littering on the beaches
    - observation of bluegreen algae blooms, an example of citizen science project in cooperation with Finnish Environment Institute

    An overview of the cross border cooperation between Rotary districts, clubs and members in just now eight countries around the Baltic Sea with the intention to contribute to a better environment in and around our regional inland sea. Examples of BASRAN “actions”:- Webinars twice a year, started 2019 - Five “Action Committees” in specific topics - For the third time “RYLA Baltic Sea” 2024 in Finland - Board meetings with guest speakers

    Club Visioning using the Rotary Action Plan priorities framework to help a club create a Vision of where the club wants to be in 3 years and the action plan steps to achieve the Vision.

    The Rotary Club will get access to the best tools to develop and execute its 3-year plan and action plans.

    This Break-Out session will introduce Club Visioning and how it works for club planning its future.

    Clubs that plan show in general better performance and growth compared to clubs that don’t.
